The first Shia state in modern times : Hell on earth
The news dispatched by Iran's Islamic Republic's official news agency over the last ten days says it all:
"30th July :Police have found the body of a woman strangled to death with her Islamic headscarf, the second in Tehran after the reported capture of the alleged murderer who confessed to 16 of the mysterious crimes. 21 women of loose morals, all with criminal records, have become victims to a killing spree committed in a peculiar manner. "
"29th July Bassij volunteer forces in the northern city of Astara have arrested 36 street harlots over the past month."
"27th July -Police rounded up some 500 prostitutes in Iran's holy city of Mashhad following the murder of 19 women in a series of murders dubbed the "spider killings."
"30th July -Authorities have seized 8,570 bottles of alcoholic drinks in the holy city of Mashhad and arrested an unspecified number of suspected dealers. Police have snatched over 5,300 bottles of alcoholic beverages in Tehran "
"An Iranian court has begun trial of four members of a prostitution ring discovered last February of being engaged in the smuggling of young girls to Persian Gulf states, a press report said Thursday. Four female`pimps' have been charged with selling young girls, aged between 13 and 17, to customers in Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, particularly Dubai, for sex."
"In February, Tehran's top judge Abbas-Ali Alizadeh said that the team, organized to undertake the specific activity, targeted girls between 13 to 17 years who are drug addicts or of divorced parents. "Some parents even cooperated with the gang in hopes of obtaining financial gain."
" A local court in the Suburb City of Karaj has indicted a judge and a number of his accomplices on "misusing" the runaway girls, a press report said Saturday. "
Earlier in July a woman was stoned to death in Evin prison accused of adultery she was the second woman to face such punishment. This month alone a hundred and 12 young men have been flogged publicly in Tehran for a platora of unislamic behavior.
All items reported by IRNA ( Official News agency of Iran's Islamic Republic) 22 years ago when the Islamic Republic came to power it promised the creation of 'heaven ' on earth. Yet the promised land of Shia morality is beginning to look more and more like the kind of hell certain defenders of the Shia faith strive for. According to one faction of the Shia religious movement, the Islamic state should strive to create 'hell on earth' ( rather than heaven) in order to precipitate the arrival of the 12th Shia Imam ( he disappeared 12 centuries ago and according to only APPEAR when corruption on earth reaches unparalleled level. One could be forgiven to believe that the current Islamic state in Iran is following the ideas of this minority faction of the Shia sect .
Last week the authorities in Iran claimed to have arrested a man who confessed to the murder of 16 prostitutes in Mashhad, yet we are now counting the 22nd victim of these brutal murders, increasing the suspicion that religious groups eager to 'clean up' society are behind such murders. Today some fundamentalist papers hailed the man confessing to these murders as a hero , purifying the Islamic nation!Whoever is found guilty of such murders the real culprit is the Islamic state whose morality code is only a cover for the most hypocritical, corrupt era in Iran's recent history. Girls as young as 9 years old can be married, legal Islamic prostitution in the form of Sigheh (temporary marriage) is encouraged, yet the Islamic state punishes teenagers who dare show their fringe with flogging.
Prostitution is the only form of employment available to many poor single mothers, single women who are sole breadwinners of their family. Sexual apartheid has deprived many poorer women of equal opportunity in education and employment, High rates of unemployment , mass dismissal of women workers have all created the conditions for an increase in the oldest profession. Violence against women , especially those accused of 'immorality' is encouraged by the state in the form of medieval punishments such as 'stoning' to death. When such 'legitimate' violence is meted out to women, is there any surprise that 22 women have lost their lives in serial murders?
Workers Left Unity Iran calls for a worldwide condemnation of the religious state in Iran, a government responsible for violence against women in the home and in society at large, a government responsible for medieval punishments flogging and stoning to death and a regime which has created 'hell on earth' specially for women.
